-
successfully called to prioritize the child care workforce for the COVID vaccines in California, in collaboration with Janis Lambert Connallon of the Children’s Defense Fund California and Senator Josh Becker and his staff;
-

-
co-developed a $54 million health insurance outreach/navigator initiative, with State Senator Josh Becker and his staff, and with Janis Lambert Connallon of the Children’s Defense Fund of California and Jose Vargas of United Ways California. This initiative will provide outreach about and offer enrollment in MediCal or Covered California subsidies throughout the entire state of California to early educators (including family child care educators), the children and the families they serve;
-
assisted with the development of AB 1117, (Wicks (AD-15) the Healthy Start: Toxic Stress and Trauma Resiliency for Children Program, proposed legislation sponsored by the Children’s Defense Fund California and United Ways of California, which will fund community health workers at schools and early care and education sites to connect children, families and educators to health and mental health services;
